
Starting from 2011 the HSE is offering scholarships for the international students applying for short-term and semester program. The Scholarship offers a number of highly talented prospective students the opportunity to pursue a study abroad program (BA, MA levels) at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics. The aim of the program is to promote the internationalization of the HSE education and give financial support for the most talented international students to study at the HSE.
Eligible candidates: highly talented prospective students with non-Russian citizenship
Amount of scholarship: 1.100 euro for one student
Number of scholarships: approximately 5 scholarships for Summer programs and 45 scholarships for semester/year/full-time programs

Scholarship
Amount of the scholarship is 1.100 euro. The scholarship can be spent on visa expenses, airfares, accommodation or any other costs associated with study.
Eligibility criteria
The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria in order to be considered for this scholarship. The applicant should:
- Not have Russian nationality;
- Have been admitted to a program at the HSE (student can not apply for scholarship unless he is admitted to a program);
- Provide us by full list of documents needed for scholarship application before the deadline;
- Be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Russian visa.
Failure to meet one or more of these criteria automatically means the student is not eligible for this scholarship.
Application
The Selection Committee of the program will select eligible candidates on the basis of the selection criteria. The selected candidates will be offered the HSE Scholarship upon their arrival at the HSE.
Documents needed for application:
- CV;
- Filled application form;
- Motivation letter (free format, not more than 500 words);
- At least one letter of recommendation;
- Copies of university/college transcript (results from current studies must be provided when available);
- Confirmation of admission to a program at the HSE.
Any other official documents proving academic achievements/excellence of the applicant are highly appreciated (certificates etc.)
Selection criteria
Eligible candidates are selected for a scholarship on the basis of the following criteria:
- Their academic excellence and promise in the proposed field of study;
- The academic quality and results of the preceding education, as evidenced, for example, by grades, test scores, publications, letters of recommendation;
- The quality and relevance of the motivation letter (academic content, intercultural and communication skills, personal motivation);
- The quality of the application itself (completeness, accuracy, consistency).
